History of Art Deco Glass
Art Deco first came to prominence in 1925 after an art exhibition in Paris and its popularity grew very fast. The art deco style is primarily a type of elegant design which grew to become dominant in the decorative arts such as fashion, jewelry, textiles, and architecture. Merging geometric shapes with contrasting colors, there is a definite modernist, cool feel to it, with influences from cubist painters like Picasso. Collecting glass as well as other pieces, from certain renowned producers who were undeniably masters of their craft, is now a big attraction for collectors. Work produced by these manufacturers has also produced an excellent return on investment. Investing in art deco has even outperformed the returns on stocks and shares in recent years.
